Kanang Anak Langkau: The Iban Warrior, a patriotic film based on the true story of a national hero, Temenggung Datuk Kanang Anak Langkau is set to screen simultaneously in Malaysia, Brunei and Singapore on 16th March 2017.

Directed by local award-winning director, Bade Haji Azmi, the film highlights the struggle of Kanang and his platoon during the communist insurgency in the year 1965 and his career as a proud army ranger in the Malaysian Armed Forces. The movie took 55 days to film in Ipoh and Taiping, Perak; as well in Sri Aman and Santubong, Sarawak.

Born in the jungle of Borneo, Kanang was raised to be a warrior and taught jungle survival skills by his grandfather. Kanang became a hunter and the best jungle tracker; able to read wind; hear the tiger and lion’s breath; and listen to the tree heartbeats.

Produced by Tangan Seni Sdn Bhd, the film also introduces first-time actor and Kanang’s son, Langgi Anak Kanang as the lead actor along with Adi Putra, Johan As’ari, Adam Shahz, Livonia Guing, Ruzana Ibrahim and Jimmy Leong.

Zainal Fikri, Executive Producer for the film, hopes that the local film fans will support the film as it tells the story of a national hero defeating the communist.
