Local Filmmaker, Michael Chuah to Direct Malaysia-China-HK Film, ‘The Apocalypse’

Local filmmaker, Michael Chuah is set to direct a Malaysia-China-Hong Kong co-production film titled, The Apocalypse which is slated for international release in 2018.

The film, which is set to cost HK$ 15 million will be co-produced by Evo Pictures (Malaysia), Aisa United Film Co. Ltd. (China), and Dream Movie Ltd. (Hong Kong). Filming will begin in October this year with actors and actresses from the three countries.

The Apocalypse follows Tommy and Sarah who discover a group of people has been infected by a mysterious sickness which turns them into aggressive individuals. Together with another group of individuals, they must find out what is going on and how to escape to safety.

"We are excited to work on this project, as such collaboration shows that Malaysia has the talent and potential to work on international projects," said Michael Chuah, who will be co-directing the film with Hong Kong filmmaker, Eric Lam.

Michael Chuah, who is known for his action-packed films such as Special Forces and Fist of Dragon recently directed a Malaysia-China-Taiwan co-production film titled, Kungfu Legends.
