‘Star Wars’ to Awaken Point College Graduates

Point College recently conducted its second ‘Point of Achievement’ Convocation at WOW KL! in Kuala Lumpur with Star Wars as its main theme. The ceremony was conducted for 94 graduates in Bachelor of New Media Design, Diploma in Film and Television Production, Digital Animation, New Media Design, Interior Design, and Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia.

Founder and President of Point College, Yoki Chin, addressed, “‘Point of Achievement’ illustrates the height of ambition, desire and effort of each student, over the course of the chosen discipline, to the achieved success today.”

In line with the Star Wars theme, he elaborated, “Well, just like how the Rebel Alliance learnt, trained and armed themselves to fight against the Galactic Empire, students at Point College are taught, moulded and armed through industry-ready programmes to fight the creative war in the ever-changing creative content landscape.”

Guest of honour, YBhg. Datuk Yusof Haslam, Managing Director of Skop Productions and renowned actor-writer-producer-director, commented, “I have been made to understand that Point College is only five years old, and, yet, it has made great strides in the field of creative content education. With the global creative industry sourcing talent across the world, the scope is almost infinite for Malaysians to obtain challenging jobs and to make their mark and enjoy the fame that comes with ground-breaking work.”

Other attendees that graced the event include Ishak Jaafar (from Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional – PTPTN), Ismarizal Ismayatim (from Perbadanan Tabung Pembangunan Kemahiran - PTPK), Dato’ Ahmad Kamal Jamlus (Advisor to Point College), Dato’ Malek Radzuan (President of  Gabungan Persatuan Karyawan Filem Malaysia - GAFIM), Captain Khir Mohd Noor (President of Persatuan Pekerja Professional Filem Malaysia – PROFIMA), Dato’ Mohd Mahyidin Mustakim (CEO of Creative Content Association Malaysia - CCAM), Zed Zaidi (President of Artistes  Association of Malaysia - SENIMAN), Khoo Kay Lye (President of Persatuan Penerbit Film Iklan Malaysia - PPFIM), and, Chelladurai Sockan (President of Malaysian Indian Visionary Association - MIVA)
