JCI Malaysia had announced the upcoming JCI Malaysia Sustainable Development Awards 2018 (JCI SDAs) aimed to recognize superb sustainability achievements for Malaysian companies and organizations in the industry. The announcement was made in a press conference held at LAVO, Menara Lien Hoe recently. The press conference was officiated by Guest of Honor, JCI Malaysia National Immediate Past President JCI Senator Nurul-Huda Mohamed Afandi. Also present was JCI Petaling Jaya President Eric Low.
A total of 33 trophies will be up for grabs and the awards will be given based on sustainable projects conducted that advance UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The 5 pillars of United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals are People, Planet, Prosperity, Partnership and Peace. The award is also aimed to raise awareness to the public and inspire the new generation to advocate positive movements in the communities.

Junior Chamber International Malaysia (JCIM) is a global membership-based non-profit organization or young active citizens ages 18-40 who are dedicated to creating positive impact in the world. With more than 2100 members from 60 local organizations affiliated with JCI Malaysia from North, Central-South, Sabah and Sarawak, JCI seeks targeted solutions to local problems as well as creating a global impact.
“The UNSDG is a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and to ensure that everyone can enjoy peace and prosperity. Hence, the element of the 5 pillars for JClM SDA trophy is linked to the 5 essentials Sustainability Development Goals,” expressed JCIM SDA Organising Chairperson, Mikasa Chong.
Nominations starts from April 1- June 30, 2018, and entries should be submitted online at www.jcimsda.com whereupon 40 finalists would be shortlisted for the awards. The Grand Award ceremony will be held in Kuala Lumpur in September this year at New World Hotel, Petaling Jaya.
