After a short hiatus, American pop band One Republic is planning to release a new album with two new singles in the upcoming months. The announcement was made at their live concert yesterday at Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur. With over 10, 000 fans in attendance, the lead vocalist Ryan Tedder expressed his gratitude towards Malaysian fans for their endless support. He also revealed that two songs had been recorded live in Malaysia prior to the concert hence as a tribute, there will be a video with Kuala Lumpur as the setting coming soon!
Concert goers were entertained by the band with their popular hit songs such as Stop and Stare, Apologize and Counting Stars. Not only that, attendees were serenaded by songs written by the band members but sang by other singers such as the classic Beyonce’s hit song, Halo as well as a short tribute to Avicii, You Wake Me Up. Tedder also performed the original demo of Ed Sheeran’s Happier in piano, which was rendered by Sheeran with guitar as the final cut.
