For the fourth year in a row, leading developers and their outstanding projects were honored at the Awards 2019. Presented by Star Media Group through its subsidiary StarProperty Sdn Bhd, the awards presentation ceremony was graced by the Minister of Housing & Local Government YB Puan Hajah Zuraida Kamaruddin. The awards program gave recognition to developers who made significant impact to the growth of the property industry.

The Awards 2019 presented 24 award categories, with six new categories introduced this year. The award categories included The Family-Friendly Award, The Neighborhood Award, The Earth Conscious Award, The Just-Walk Award, The Starter Home Award and the Readers' Choice. The six new categories introduced for the Awards 2019 were The WOW Award (Public Building), The Luxury Series Award (Bungalow Residence), The Art of Life Award, The Big Heart Award, The Creative Touch City Hotel Award (Timeless), and The Creative Touch City Hotel Award (Contemporary).

Horizon Hills Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Gamuda Land Bhd, won two awards which are the Excellence award for The Best Health & Wellness Development and new category The Luxury Series Award – Best Luxury Development (Bungalow Residence), for its Horizon Hills project. On the other hand, Mah Sing Group Bhd was awarded The Big Heart Award (Best Corporate Social Responsibility). Mah Sing group strategy and operations director Jane Leong said they focused their efforts on three key pillars – education, health and well-being as well as community development. “Anything we do must be sustainable and measurable. One of these is entrepreneurship training targeted at the B40 group. Through this program, they can make a living in a more sustainable way instead of having to rely on outside help,” she said.

Four Seasons Hotel Kuala Lumpur took home the award for Excellence in Creative Touch City Hotel Award (Timeless), while Tropicana Corporation Bhd won the Creative Touch City Hotel Award (Contemporary) for its hotel, W Kuala Lumpur. The inaugural WOW Award (Public Building) was awarded to Johor Land Bhd for its Sultan Iskandar mosque project. The Art of Life Award (Best Lifestyle Development) was awarded to Binastra Land Sdn Bhd for its Trion @ KL project.

The prestigious All-Star Award – recognizing exemplary developers which have consistently created and added value to their property projects – was awarded to 11 firms, including Gamuda Land, LBS Bina Group Bhd, Mah Sing Group Bhd, Matrix Concepts Group and Malaysian Resources Corporation Bhd (MRCB). The All-Star Award was also won by Paramount Property Development Sdn Bhd, S P Setia, Sime Darby Property Bhd, SkyWorld Development Group, Sunway Bhd and Tropicana Corporation Bhd. The Readers’ Choice Award was clinched by LBS Bina Group Bhd, MRCB and S P Setia. The awards were presented by Housing and Local Government Minister YB Puan Zuraida Kamaruddin, Star Media Group chairman Datuk Fu Ah Kiow, Star Media Group group adviser Datuk Seri Wong Chun Wai and Star Media Group chief operating officer Roy Tan.
